Paolo first started learning this special technique 12 years ago in Sardinia, Italy where he grew up and spend most of his young adult life. Paolo and his family decided to move to Christchurch seven years ago because his partner is native to this beautiful city. After a few years working for a local plastering company, he decided to embark on his own adventure and create his business Decora Design as a way to bring a little part of Italy to his new home.

Paolo is currently the only Venetian plasterer in New Zealand with access to authentic Decora and San Marco Italian products. These products are water-based, eco-friendly, solvent free, totally breathable, flexible and have a high bacterial resistance due to the presence of lime, making it a healthy choice. Furthermore, the plaster is also waterproof, which makes it easily suitable to be used in bathrooms, kitchen, or any environment with high levels of moisture. One of the points of difference is it his ability to achieve a granite look alike finish when in fact it is still plaster.
